Celebrate International Museum Day with Free Access to Expo City Dubai's Flagship Pavilions

| Explore sustainability, innovation, and culture at Expo City Dubai's captivating pavilions on May 19

Expo City Dubai is inviting visitors to embark on a unique cultural journey on Friday, May 19, as they celebrate International Museum Day with free entry to all flagship pavilions. This special occasion offers a wonderful opportunity for individuals and families to delve into the world of museums and engage with captivating educational programs centered around the theme of 'Museums, Sustainability, and Wellbeing'.

The diverse range of pavilions available for exploration during this event includes Alif – The Mobility Pavilion, Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion, The Women's Pavilion, The Vision Pavilion, and the intriguing Stories of Nations Pavilions. Each pavilion offers a distinctive experience, providing a deeper understanding of various aspects of our world.

Terra, The Sustainability Pavilion, promises an enlightening experience by screening climate-focused films in collaboration with the Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi. Additionally, visitors can engage in informative tours, enjoy storytelling sessions, participate in physical theatre workshops, and explore a 'tinker table' designed for playful and experiential learning.

At Alif, curious minds can unleash their creativity in a Lego workshop where they can construct robot hands, delving into the principles of engineering while learning about motors and sensors. Meanwhile, the Women's Pavilion and the Vision Pavilion invite visitors of all ages to take part in engaging craft activities, celebrating artistry, and promoting inclusivity.

International Museum Day, established by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 1977, celebrates the cultural significance of museums worldwide. Each year, a different theme is honored, and since 2020, the focus has been on the Sustainable Development Goals. Museums play a vital role in shaping sustainable futures through educational initiatives, exhibitions, community outreach, and research.

As Expo City Dubai prepares to host COP28 in November 2023, it stands as a testament to sustainable urban planning and environmental stewardship. The city's commitment to preserving the planet is evident through various programs designed to help visitors understand their impact and inspire them to contribute to the preservation of our world.

Embrace this special opportunity on May 19th to embark on an educational and immersive journey through Expo City Dubai's captivating pavilions. Experience the intersection of sustainability, innovation, and culture as you explore the transformative power of museums and their role in shaping a brighter future.
